Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup oats flour
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 112 gm cold butter 1/2cup
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/3 cup buttermilk

Instructions
- To prepare oats flour just dry roast the oats then powder it
- Pre heat the oven to 200 °c .Line the baking tray with parchment paper..
- In a large bowl whisk together 2 flours ,baking powder , baking soda,salt , sugar
- Cut the buttet into small pieces and blend to the flour mix .Make sure butter is well chilled to produce the flakiest texture possible.The mixture should look like a crumbs.Stir in chocolate chips..
- In a small cup whisk together buttermilk and vanilla essence.and add to the flour mixture.stir until dough comes together (Add buttermilk or flour as necessary).donot over mix the dough.
- Transfer the dough to the floured surface and knead and roll to a circle with 1 1/2inch thickness.cut the circle in half then each half cut into pie shaped wedges(triangle).
- place the scones in baking tray and brush with buttermilk and bake @200°C For 15 -20mins until golden brown and toothpuck inserted comes out clean.Remove from oven allow to cool...

Also tried making marbled effect by adding cocoa powder to the half of the dough and rolled out into a circle with layering either of the dough.

They look really soft and almost like a cookie. I just might be trying this recipe.
Looks yummy I’ll be trying them , I will be reducing the sugar by half , might even try them without sugar as my husband is diabetic and is not suppose to eat sugar. I’ll let you know how they turn out.
