Low carb gluten free cheese bun is the best alternative to the normal flour buns… It has combination of cheese and alternative flours like almond flour.. This cheese bun dough is gluen free and its low carb perfect to make the breakfast bun..
If you are in weight loss plan then the foods you are having should be a low carb.. my husband was in low carb diet some time ago he will not have any goods that we normally have like dosa , appam, chappathi etc that’s made of flour and rice flour then I started to search for low carb diet which has high protein and fats… There are websites which has only low carb diet then I started searching and noted down the recipe which suits us… One such recipe is these cheese bun dough …
This bun dough uses mix of cream cheese, mozrella cheese and cheddar cheese and the main binding agent is egg.. For low carb diet, flours used mainly are Almond flour and coconut flour..This bun dough can form base for many recipes I have also tried using this to make chicken empanadas or pockets and baked it..even It forms a base for pizza too…
I have used this cheese bun to make a simple breakfast sandwich with some sauce Spread on it and layered with a fried egg and lettuce…The bun is do soft inside and you never know that it’s made of almond flour ..

- 3/4 cup mozrella cheese
- 50 gm cream cheese 2 blocks
- 1/3 cup Almond flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tso Italian herbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese

- In a large microwaveble bowl add mozrella cheese and cream cheese .Microwave it for 1 minute.Then Mix the melted cheese well .
- In seperate bowl add in Almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, herb and egg..Stir well until combined
- Add in the melted cheese ..mix well.The batter will be thin and loose in start and become thick like dough on continous mixing
- Cover with cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- On refrigerating the dough becomes thick .divide the dough and shape them into burger buns..
- Bake in pre heated oven @220°c for 10-12 minutes
- To make sandwich , spread the mayonaise in the buns then top with lettuce and fried eggs and enjoy..
This is such an amazing recipe! When on low carb, we also will need to calculate the macros for this in case we need to be able to eat them, by fitting it into our daily calorie requirement. I will bookmark this to try, when I can fit it into my eating, InShaAllah…
