Step by step picture for the recipe:
chicken filling
Braided Chicken Roll
Prep Time 60 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Ingredients
- Ingredients for Dough
- 2 cups plain flour all purpose/
- 1/2 yeast instant
- 1 tbsps milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsps oil
- 1 egg (plus 1 for glazing)
- 1 castor sugar /2tsp
chicken Filling
- 250 gm Chicken (bonless)
- 1/2 1 tsps Turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsps Pepper powder
- 1/2 tsps Soya sauce
- Salt
- 2 Onion chopped
- 2 tsps Gingergarlic paste
- 1 tsp Redchilli powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 1/2 tsps Garam masala
- Coriander leaves
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder ,pepper powder, soya sauce and salt and pressure cook it Then shred the chicken pieces.
- Here I have used boneless chicken use can chicken with bones too then shred it .For the above dough u can increase the amount of chicken filling.
- In a pan add oil , chopped onions and saute until it is soft not browned then add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw smell is gone then add all the powders , shreded chicken ,then finally ad coriander leaves ..add salt according to taste.. and keep it
- In a bowl mix togethe castor sugar, milk and yeast alow to rise .Then mix together flour, salt, egg then add yeast mix , oil and knead to a medium soft dough with slightly warm water, leave to rise for 1 hour. Divide the dough into two or three depending on how big you want the loaves. Proceed with viewing the subsequent steps to see how the bread is shaped.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Put your filling in the center of the rectangle and make slits on both of the longer sides.
- Start bringing the topmost slit ends across from each other alternately
- Keep going, remember to alternate, like a crisscross fashion. Left to right...right to left.
- When you reach the end, leave a tail at the bottom, just for the appearance. You can just tuck everything
- Grease a tray and place your breads.
- STEP 8: Apply egg-wash and sprinkle the sesame seeds...then bake in a preheated oven at 200 C for about 25 minutes or until done.
- (Egg-wash means to beat an egg with a tsp. of water then brush it all over your bread)
- Right after taking out of the oven apply butter well on whole bread and let it rest covered with a cloth for 2-3 min to soften the bread completely
