Sweetcorn halwa ,an easy and tasty dessert made with the delicious sweetcorn with the flavour of saffron.
who doesn’t love sweetcorn it’s an vegetable which is loved by all ages.. whether its steamed or grilled it’s always yum.. then if its made into desserts then no words to explain.Today’s recipe is one of the best halwa recipes it’s also easy to make it with ingredients available at home.. My kids love sweetcorn I usually buy the fresh sweetcorn and avoid using frozen ones.. I usually microwave it for 5 minutes then separate the corns and toss with required seasoning.. but for a change tried the halwa version..its best served warm…
If you have the whole corn cob then pressure cook it or microwave it with little water for 5 minutes the you can remove the kernels and use it
Sweetcorn halwa
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked sweetcorn kernels
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened khoya *
- 3-4 tbsp ghee
- 4 tbsp milk
- pinch of saffron
Instructions
- Grind the cooked corn kernels with milk to fine paste
- Heat a pan add 2 tbsp ghee then add the ground corn paste cook till raw smell goes away.then add sugar and Stir it till the mixture becomes glossy and thick.
- At this point add the grated khoya and mix it well.Add the remaining ghee and saffron.
- Stir it till everything comes together and the ghee leaves the sides of the pan,put off the stove.
Recipe Notes
* If khoya is not available then you can make them using milk powder.just boil the 2 tbspmilk and 2 tsp ghee and add to 1/2 cup milk powder mix it well.If it looks still dry you can add more milk 1 teaspoon of milk at a time
