Its been long time i have posted a chicken recipes in my blog so thaught will make quick to make spicy traditional recipe…PEPPER CHICKEN also called KOZHI MILAGU VARUVAL as the taste and spice is goin to come from PEPPER POWDER…
magic ingredients used in this recipes that enhances this pepper chicken is ofcourse pepper powder but the its combination of roasted fennel seeds and whole peppercorns ground to powder. and added atlast…..
Pepper chicken goes well with parotta , dosa ,appam, white rice and even as sidedish for biriyani….
Now lets get into the recipe….
Pepper chicken Dry (Kozhi milagu varuval)
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken
- 3 onion big
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 tbsp ginger garlicpaste
- 1/2 tsp redchilli powder
- 1 tsp pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 tsps coriander powder
- 1 1/4 tsps garam masala
- curry leaves
- coriander leaves
- coconut oil
- 2 tsps pepper whole
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
Instructions
- Dry roast the whole pepper and fennel seeds in a pan then grind to coarse powder.
- In a pan add oil onion then cook till it is soft then curry leaves and ginger garlic paste cook till raw smell is gone.
- Then add tomatoes cook till mushy then add all spice powders and salt andcook till oil floats this process is very important as it add taste to pepper chicken .then add the chicken pieces add very little water and cook till done.( it has to cook on its own juice)
- when it is cooked and almost dry consistency add the chopped coriander leaves and sprinkle the powdered mix(pepper +fennel) give it a stir and serve hot...
