A Decadent of middle Eastern inspired cheesecake ,rich ,Creamy cheesecake sandwiched between crispy kunafa. drizzled with sugar syrup.
The idea of this cheesecake came from baklava Cheesecake which my husband had it from a cafe … As i dint have baklava sheets i tried with kunafa dough ..It was a delicious another variety to add to my kunafa diaries.. Kunafa Cheesecake
Ingredients
- 250 gm kunafa shreded
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 225 gm cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup kunafa shredded
Instructions
- Pre heat the oven 2180 c for 10 minutes
- In a bowl add kunafa shreded ,melted butter and powdered sugar mix well until well combined.press to the greased baking pan and keep aside.
- In another bowl cream together cream cheese,sugar, egg then add in plain flour and vanilla essence..mix well until combined.
- pour the cream mix on top of the kunafa layer and spread evenly and bake for 30- 40 minutes.
- To prepare Toppings: melt butter and shreded kunafa and roast until golden brown and crisp..and top on to the baked cheese cake.
- To Prepare sugar syrup: Boil sugar and water until sugar is dissolved and allow it to cool. drizzle on top of roasted kunafa topping..
- Serve chilled.
